Hi, I have been playing off and on for about 6 months and I'm having trouble with chords. I know the chords I just don't know when to play them when they're set up like this.

C G
Words words words words words words words

Any help would be appreciated.

As soon as the words start in the line.

IE:

G --------------------------------------------C
My life sucks, my life is black spit on my heart and lick my tears

Yeah. Start with a G Chord on the "My", start the C chord on the "spit"
--"Hey, don't worry; don't be afraid, ever, because this is just a ride."--

So I would play G once then wait until the lyrics come to the C to play the next chord?

Like this ?

G pause pause pause pause pause C
words words words words words words words words

basically, yes
you need to listen to the song, and try to pick up what they're doing.

if you have troubles, listen to the song with your guitar. don't really play, just kinda try to feel what they're doing (have your strumming hand try to follow along) where/when they're hitting the chords, etc.
