About a year and a half.

8-finger tapping, of course I borrow from Buckethead.

Working on 2-handed Arpeggios lately, hopefully in a few years I'll perfect them.

Psh.. noob.

I've been playing for almost 4 years. I can play little wing, and lots of chili peppers songs, plus numerous other songs. I took lessons for about a year, when I first started, and stopped, but am taking em again now. I don't know a lot about theory, but I am getting better. I have some songs on my profile, I think those can speak better for my skill than I can type.
I can honestly say I have really been far even as decided to use even go want to do look more like.

I don't always post on UG, but when I do, I post in the Pit. Stay thirsty my friends.

12 years, i can play several hundred songs. im working on sweeping and tapping now. i feel im fairly well versed in blues, jazz and metal. i'm slowly learning classical and flamenco type stuff now. obviously punk and country i can do too.

Look up 'Finger Nubbing' by Buckethead on youtube.

Sometimes he does it with six, sometimes up to 10. I can't do 10, but I can match his speed with 6.

i've been playing for about a year and a half now, i'm pretty content with my playing ability, although i hope and expect to get better. i am currently trying to learn dire straits' sultans of swing.

took me a while to get used to metallica solos, i have enter sandman down completely and i'm about halfway through master of puppets. i've only learned a little of the four horsemen so far. they're not really that hard if you've been playing for a while.

that's interesting.

is 8 finger tapping something you slowly work up to, like you slowly use more fingers as you get better? and would it be across 4 different strings?

sorry about all these questions, just trying to learn stuff here.

i think it just depends on how you learn and how you use it

i've been improving a bit lately, i've learned the solos to scream aim fire by bullet for my valentine and cowboys from hell by pantera. can't really nail the sweeping in BFMV, so i just improvise, but pantera is getting a little less sloppy.

He said what can you do on guitar, not how well you use the searchbar, pfft, read his post.

Anyway on topic, i can play hundreds of songs from several genres. Im working on sweeping and minor tapping at the moment since i cant learn much else song wise until i improve technically.

5 Years... and I can play Eugene's trick bag, a biot of speed metal symphony, altitudes sweeping, scarified, technical difficulties, curse of castle dragon, viking kong, bark at the moon, crazy train, mario theme, flight of the bumblebee, octavarium, the root of all evil, under a glass moon, afterlife, innocence faded, Concerto, Get out of my yard, every AC/DC ever written. Lots of flamenco... and uhhh... stuff.. and mood for a day.

Techniques...

I can (with clarity and with the right amp)string skip, sweep, tremolo pick, legato, variations of licks, chromatics up and down the neck at 180 bpm, tapping, I can tap with eight fingers, six fingers, four, three notes per string pentatonic, odd time signature licks like 1728/3, fingerpickin' umm... I guess that's it.
