I'm kind of stuck on what to do with guitar. I've been learning some songs, like Should I Stay or Should I Go, Here it Goes Again, Paranoid (can't quite do the solo yet, getting closer), and Smells Like Teen Spirit. Should I just keep on learning songs (if so, what would be some good recommendations?), or start learning new techniques?

you should learn techniques, that way when you want to learn a song it'll be easier. i wouldn't suggest just learning songs, that's what i used to do and i didn't get far being self-taught

The beautiful thing about playing guitar, or any music for that matter is in individual expression. Play what you want to play, and learn what you want.

It is good to learn the techniques sure, but don't get so hung up on them.

Have fun while playing the guitar, and it will turn into a lifelong obsession.
