I know what the dorian mood is and all the notes, but whats a good way to finger it? Cause all the ways I can think of, you have to make a shift to get the major 6th. Am I missing something?

Nope, in standard tuning you need to shift your finger positioning slightly to get the major 6th in. It's only a 1 fret move though, hardly challenging and doesn't affect the ease of playing the scale much.

Two ways you could do it imo, with minimal left hand movement:

G-----------2-3-5-
D-------3-5-------
A-3-5-6-----------
E-----------------

OR

G-------------3-5-
D-------3-5-7-----
A-3-5-6-----------
E-----------------
