When ever i play a G chord, the open B string sounds too sharp, but other chords sound perfect. If i try to fix this by flattening the B string, the G sounds good, but the other chords sound wrong. I've tried adjusting intonation, but it hasn't helped very much
Help?

Try new strings.

in the g chord play the third fret, so it's like this:

-3-
-3-
-0-
-0-
-2-
-3-

it's still a g, with or without the open b, but if you prefer the sound with the extra d note, then this is what to go for.

hope that helps.

Yeah but i'm used to fretting it like this
-3-
-2-
-0-
-0-
-0-
-3-
It allows me to use my index finger to make sus4 chords and such
Is there anyway to fix the problem?

that's not a G

unless you've typed it upside down.

G
C#
G
D
A
G

is what you have. And even if you have typed it upside down, I don't understand how it leaves your index free. Having the extra 3rd fret would leave the same amount of finger free because you could just barre it.

i play it like this
I have my ring finger on the 3rd fret, low A
middle finger on 2nd fret A string
pinky finger on 3rd fret high E, leaving me with a free index finger.
Try it and you'll see

Edit:^ and yeah i typed it upside down

but even if you did a 3rd fret on the B string you could barre the high e + b with your pinky.

I know it's just a matter of opinion but you could still try it and see if it sounds 'wrong' still.
