ive heard so many people talking about how great they are on stratocasters. But whenever ive watched videos about them on youtube and they sounded very sterile. Hell on one it sounded like my EMG equipped jackson on Clean. So are these basically EMGs for strats??? they have an OK distorted tone but every clean video ive seen of them they just dont sound that great. they have the same principle of EMGs, extremley quite focused pickups. IF so than why would people put those on strats?? isnt the point ofmost people playing strats to have something that has an extremley soulful twangy tone???

sorry for not posting links

the first two vids are the company promos so they are meant to sound as good as they can. The third is some random guy with lace sensors playing some song. All of them just sound kinda sterile. Now the fourth video is just some random dude doing a blues improv on a stock american strat. No agenda here, just some guy playing blues, but it still sounds wayy better than all the other demonstrations. (and no i dont know any of these people)

Kind of. You're right about the focused part but LS's are made passive and use some pretty original ideas. Another difference is that they were owned by fender for a while so most replicate strats with different mods and from different times.

I think they sound great but of course we don't all have the same ears.

^Yeah they're all passive, very cool considering they're shockingly noiseless compared to the pickups that normally come with strats. If you don't really like the sound that's totally understandable, everyone has their own tastes.
