Anyone really sick of people who hate clothing brands like hollister or abecrombie just because they think it makes them "cool" to not like them? Obviously not liking a brand because they're not your style of clothing is one thing, but this is completely different. I mean, sure, there are people that think they're cool because they wear the clothing as well, but they seem to be less obnoxious about it. Anyone feel similarly?

i dont like them because they are overpriced, and abecrombie has all this weird music, and alot of pictures of shirtless men, not really my thing, i'll stick with hot topic (i go there for band tees, plus the people that work there are really cool and nice, way nicer than the people i've seen working at hollister and american eagle) and anchor blue.

Even though I look 13 most of the time =/

I haven't experienced this brand hating threadstater. I wouldn't even know what to say here because I haven't seen this at all.

I am. And I hate abercrombie fags who can't wear any other brand of clothing with their faggoty ass leather necklaces and their baby blue plaid cargo shorts. You seriously think that **** is cool?
#8
I don't have anything against them. People can wear whatever the **** they want. I'll stick to my band shirts though.
#9
It's not a matter of them being popular, it's a matter of them being way too fucking expensive. I am not yuppie scum, therefore I refuse to pay $90 for a shirt that's worth no more than $20.

well i hate paying 50 bucks for pre-distressed jeans. 20 dollar jeans at kohls and a belt sander yield the same results.

I don't like those brands because they're not my style. And a certain type of person usually wears them, although not all people who wear them are like this. They (Abercrombie, who owns Hollister) even offered me a job out of the blue. I said no because I don't like their image.

I hate the brands you mention because they are ugly as hell and people who wear them are usually douchebags.

I don't brand hate, and I especially don't pick my friends based on if they wear "cool" brands or not.

well....i tend to stay away from hot topic, they tend to overcharge. But theres a small regional chain in the malls in my area that sells band tees and i don't have to put up with some of the more annoying clientel.

I hate Warehouse One because the jeans are so ****ing uncomfortable. I'm a cool jean basher too, guise.

I hate Abercrombie because of the perfume the spray strategically every 30 minutes that burns my eyes and causes me to tear up if I even walk by the entrance.

really, i always thought they had decent prices, but nothing compared to interpunk.com, anyway the people who work there rock, they know alot of good music. i try to buy stuff from small chains and even single stores (like green records) around me, but they hardly ever have anything good.

I stopped caring about brands when I started buying my own clothing and realised "hey! if I get a shirt thats nearly identical without this weird little check mark, I can spend $10 less!"
#26
I walked past an Ambercrombie in the Eaton Centre once. Something about a store that covers its outside with black blinds, blasts techno music, and smells of overpriced douchebaggery doesn't just draw me in.

Yup. Anyone who particularly cares needs to get a sense of perspective.

I have experienced this brand hating thing, and I was guilty of it. When I was a young middle school lad, maybe about 3 years ago, I would make fun of the "preps" for their hollister clothes. I still choose not to shop there, but now I wouldn't be against going in with friends if they wanted to buy something there. Heck, if a girl thought I'd look good in their jeans or shirts or something, I might buy one if we were at the mall together.

But, I wouldn't wear anything in Hot Topic. I just feel stupid when I've went in there in the past. Which is funny, because I'm pretty sure most of my friends get their clothes there.

Agreed.

The thing I hate is the "vintage" jeans. You want vintage, go to a venue and rip your pants in the mosh pit.

Hollister, AE, and Aero aren't expensive at all, at least the shirts aren't. But I don't wear them because 10 people on the same day are bound to have the same one.

I don't hate any brands in particular but I refuse to pay for anything with a big logo on it. A few years ago I decided that if I was gonna be advertising for a brand with a big logo on my chest then they'd better be paying me for it. The idea of paying for the "privilege" of advertising just seems stupid to me.

So now I pretty much wear blank shirts, stencil my own, or buy band tees from people that I want to support.
