OK I SUCK AT MATH. but can some one tell me if im really wrong or is it the book. What number is 24% of 75. the book says 18 in the back but i keep getting 16.60 following their steps. can someone help me out. by the way dont call me stupid math is my weakness.

#2

divide 75 by 100, then multiply by 24.

75/100 = 0.75

0.75 x 24 = 18

The book is right.

75/100 = 0.75

0.75 x 24 = 18

The book is right.

#3

.24*75=18

#4

CROSS MULTIPLY AND DIVIDE

x = 24

--- ---

75 100

24 * 75 = 100x

1800 = 100x

1800 divided by 100 = x

18 = x

x = 18 per cent.

You're welcome.

x = 24

--- ---

75 100

24 * 75 = 100x

1800 = 100x

1800 divided by 100 = x

18 = x

x = 18 per cent.

You're welcome.

Translate from English to Math.

What number is 24% of 75. "What number" is

--> x = (24/100) X 75 ==> 1800/100 = 18.

What number is 24% of 75. "What number" is

**x**, "is" is**"="**, 24% translates to the fraction 24/100 (by the definition of percent, meaning "out of hundred"), and**of**is multiplication.--> x = (24/100) X 75 ==> 1800/100 = 18.

75 x 0.24 =

This will tell you what 24% of the number 75 is

#10

uh...

working backwards:

16.6 X 75

x 100

x=22.133333%

theres your problem

16.6 X 75

x 100

x=22.133333%

theres your problem
