I have an opportunity to purchase a used Fender Telecaster, made in Mexico, for approx $250.

Assuming it's in good condition and the intonation etc is good. Is it worth it?

It's not a Squire. It's a Fender. I could have the amp included for a total of $350

It may be impossible to tell from this photo but I thought I'd attach it anyway. I own a Squire strat so I'm hoping this is a step up.

Sounds like a good deal to me, as long as it's in good condition. I'd go for it.

I'd say go for it. The standard Fender guitars are pretty killer.
