They're both excellent amps for what you play. I'd go with the classic 30 cause I find it has a bit more crunch which I like and its more watts in case you ever decide to gig or anything.

For your genres: the peavey. The Vox will do great for blues, but classic rock (a la deep purple, white snake e.a) would be a stretch, and modern even more so.

Though with the right pedals, both could do anything. And +1 one the wattage issue if you're gigging.

But I've heard some good stories on Traynors beating both of these on your specific genres, though I haven't done any research on the matter myself.

oh yeaaaaa... traynors I've also tried the ycv 40 and it was a godsent for classic rock. The ycv50 blue is more modern but I havent tried it so don't quote me on that
