Does anyone have a suggestion for a good book that could be found at a library or through amazon that explains basic music theory? I am currently working through the bound Hal Leonard guitar method (all 3 volumes) along with Guitar for Dummies (focuses more on chord progressions). I want something that will give me more background information and a better understanding of how the notes work (especially for guitar but necesarrily limited to), scales, etc. Suggestions are appreciated.

I recently purchased "Music Theory for Guitars" which is a Hal Leonard release that I'll be working through. "The Complete Idiots Guide to Music Theory" gets high marks around here, but I am unfamiliar with how much it refers to guitar playing in it.
