Has about $320 to spend at the most, needs to be fairly loud to get over drums, used is not a option needs to be pretty good for metal since that is what is going to be played on it 99% of the time.

Thanks for the help ahead of time!

A Line 6 would be good anything that is over 30 to 35 watts is loud enough to go over drums but a line 6 would be good becuase its got all the good preset distortions and other effects and has a built in tuner.

That might be his best bet.... 320 is really not enough so that might be ok even though it sounds digital.

It really wouldn't.

Roland Cube 60 is his best bet...he has an odd budget. For metal there's not really anything significantly better between $200 and $400.
Actually called Mark!

Check out Pignose GV40. It is a 40watt valve for exactly $320 on musicians friend. If it isn't hot enough for metal, save up and get a pedal.

Heard the Rolands sound good too, like seagul suggests.

Peavey Bandit. Probably the best sounding, loudest amp available in that pricerange.
You Don't Need a halfstack.

You Don't Need 100W.
