Yesterday night, my guitar attempted to murder me.

Yes, I got electrocuted by my guitar. Or whas it my amp? This has never happened before, and i love my guitar, and my amp dearly.... Why'd I get electrocuted? Has this happened to anyone?

tried the search bar but didn't come up with anything :/

You have to kill them both... it's the only way.

Seriously though I'd probably get your amp looked at

Its called an ungrounded outlet. Wear shoes when you play and youll be good

Cant say its ever happened to me, and the only way it can happen to you is by static electricity. maybe theres a ground link broken inside your amp?

Take your amp into the shop. There's probably something wrong with the grounding in it. Don't expect shoes to help.

in the winter time with heater running and no humidifier after walking around on carpet with or without shoes I can touch any part of my rig and get that static electric shock.

i take it yours was more serious. is your house/crib/electrical wiring/ and outlet older or newer?

i doubt its my amp, cause im over at my friends house jammin now with the same amp and guitar, and not a shock yet....

its either that he has carpet in his room, or that my house hasn't been rewired since 1956. :/
