I've been looking alot now.
But, i'm torn between an Epiphone G-400 Custom, or a Gibson SG Special?
What to get?!?

The only way to be absolutely sure is to try them out yourself.

There are some Epis that are really good, and there are some cheap Gibsons that suck.

I tried out some cheaper Gibsons against the more expensive epiphones and liked some of the Epiphones more.
Plus they are usually a fair bit cheaper if money is a concern...

Neither really... Find an older (pre millennial) Epiphone if you can; then drop Gibson pickups in it and you'll have something better than either by far. Or even better see if you can find a Guild, ESP Viper, or some other SG-styled guitar from another brand.

I mean if you must get a new one get a regular G-400 of some kind, that should allow you to save the money to change any of the hardware or electronics to greatly surpass the Gibson.
