ok, so my band (Fuel The Burn) is working on covers of "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana, and "Main Offender" by The Hives
I need help capturing the sounds of those to song with the amp i have (30 watt Spider III).
so i was wondering if anyone could help me with the settings on my amp to get those sounds

i have the same amp
put it on the red metal setting, bass and treble around 1 o clock, and the mid around 4-5

Hmm...

Try the crunch channel and add a whole bunch of treble and take away bass.

You don't really need to have crazy amazing or identical tone anyways dude. It's grunge.

Don't know about Nirvana, but if you want a good hives sound turn your guitar volume and tone all the way up. Turn up your treble and turn down your bass. Now get just a small amount of some natural OD or distortion. Remember, it doesn't have to be too heavy.
