i don't typically write country stuff, but i gave it a try, sounds pretty standard but i like it.

with the open road before me
feel i've got to push the limit
pedal to the metal tryin' to
get up in it
this road is mine to conquer
think i'll give it a drive
and learn my lessons as i'm
flyin by

so love me honey or
leave me behind
i've got plenty of love for you
but i ain't got much time
i hate to see your head low
i hate to leave this way
someday i'll be a stayin' man
but today just ain't the day

cause i'll be ridin'
as far as i can
to great lakes and mountain states
to the corners of the land
and with every sunset
she'll be on my mind
but bright and early mornin' lord
i'll be further down the line
and i never even think about
where i'm tryin' to go
my troubles far behind me now
before me open road

my troubles far behind me now
before me open road
(fade out)

to me it doesnt necessarily sound like country. maybe it has certain elements, but honestly, it sounds more like jackson browne. (thats a good thing)
either way, i like the lyrics, even if i'm not too keen on country.
Looks like someone woke up on the wrong side of the cake this morning!

yeah, that's an inside joke. i made it different colors and sizes to be obnoxious...
