Hey,

Im looking for a guitar for travelling and i came accross the garrison gp20 parlour guitar. I played it and like it so im just wondering whether there are any reasons that people know about why i should not buy this guitar. It's a good size for travelling and comes with a hardcase. I've never heard of the make before which is why i am kinda cautious. Here's the related info:

Garrison's GP20 Parlour Guitar combines solid Canadian birch back and sides with a solid Canadian cedar top to create a stunning tone. Using birch for back and sides was generally abandoned in the 1940s and 1950s due to its scarcity, but, as it's readily available in Garrison's home town, they've been able to create a guitar with a rare and classic sound.

Top: Solid Cedar, Satin Finish
Back & Sides: Solid Birch, Satin Finish
Neck: Mahogany, Satin Finish
Fingerboard: Rosewood
Bridge: Rosewood
Nut & Saddle: TUSQ
Pick Guard: Black
Inlays: Mother of Pearl Dots
Tuners: Garrison Individual Chrome
Strings: D’Addario EXP 16s
Rosette: Compass
Intonation: Buzz Feiten Tuning System
Nut Width: 1.7 inches
Scale Length: 25.4 inches
Number of Frets: 20
Frets Clear of Body: 14
Case: Garrison Hardshell Included

Cost: £399.00

Any comments at all about the make, model or spec. would be incredibly helpful as this is my first time buying an acoustic.

Thanks!

Sounds very nice. Especially with the addition of the Buzz Feiten Tuning System. That alone will make it worth it as it will play in tune very accurately. I've never seen a birch back/side guitar. Pics please! And I'd say go for it if you like it. Sounds like a winner, and it isn't going to break the bank.

Yep, it's a sweety. Go for it! Love the soundhole. The saddle's been compensated, which is probably the Buzz Feiten part, although it can be a shelf nut also. Doesn't look like the nut's been altered tho, hard to see by the pics. Pretty mint looking little axe there. I'd buy it.

Agreed. Snatch it up quick.

Damn you LeftyDave! You're the best salesman ever; now I'm adding this baby to the GAS list. Sigh. It never gets any easier.
Sincerely, Chad.
