Right, I'm thinking about creating a playlist full of great bass tunes, but the bass riff has to be prominent (if you get me).

So far, I have the following:

The Clairvoyant - Iron Maiden
Carousel - Blink 182
Longview - Green Day
Pulling Teeth - Anesthesia - Metallica
For Whom The Bell Tolls - Metallica
Club Foot - Kasabian
Better Than You - Metallica
Rotten Apple - Alice in Chains
Swing on This - Alice in Chains
Vodevil - Marilyn Manson
The Hand That Feeds - Nine Inch Nails
Love Like Winter - AFI
Miss Murder - AFI
(s)AINT - Marilyn Manson
mOBSCENE - Marilyn Manson
Heart Shaped Glasses - Marilyn Manson
The Line Begins to Blur - Nine Inch Nails
Only - Nine Inch Nails
The Only One - Evanescence
Disko Fire Schiess Messiah - Hanzel und Gretyl
Ride the Lightning - Metallica
Tool - Schism
Rancid - White Knuckle Ride
Bullet In Your Head - Rage Against The Machine
Money - Pink Floyd
So What - Miles Davis
Around the World - Red Hot Chili Peppers
Hysteria -Muse
Time is Running Out - Muse
From the Ritz to the Rubble- Artic Monkeys
By The Way - Red Hot Chili Peppers
YYZ - Rush

So... fire away please!

anything from metallica's first three albums, bullet in your head by RATM, anything by RHCP. alot of the who's songs have bass lines which arent very loud but they are really good. money by pink floyd also has a pretty powerful bassline, but it matches the guitar for most of the song. also theres a ****eload of muse songs like hysteria which are good.

Still no Chili Peppers? If you're waiting for a title I'd suggest "Around the World" as a RHCP bass staple. If you just don't want any RHCP on your playlist then ignore this.

No, Chili's are fine!

I just need a few names, as I'm not that 'good' with them. Thanks though!

Haha, alright. In that case you might also wanna check out "Power of Equality" and "Torture Me". Also faster-paced RHCP songs with sweet bass lines.

I'm probably gonna want this playlist too when it's done.

As far as AFI goes, Sacrifice Theory, The Nephilim, Death of Seasons, The Lost Souls, 6 to 8, Total Immortal and God Called in Sick Today would be my picks.

Haha, no you don't need to upload it, just the texted list at the top of the thread is fine.

Bad Religion ftw. Songs like "Misery and Famine", "Inner Logic", "21st Century Digital Boy" (the redone version from Stranger Than Fiction), "Atomic Garden", "In The Night", "Anesthesia", "Generator", "Epiphany", and more... the list goes on.

Rise Against has some nice lines.

And of course, Tool and RHCP. Also, some Perfect Circle has nice lines.

Tommy the Cat by Primus

hell, any primus, but yeah, any version of Tommy the Cat, there's 3 main ones

Suck on This liver version (my fave), Sailing seas of cheese studio version and the rhinoplasty live version with the awakening as the bass solo

the awakening by itself is awesome too, the les claypool version is the only one I have

er, Joy Division?

dead souls and she's lost control both feature prominent bass work and are by Joy Division

some ofd the Smiths is quite bassy

the queen is dead by the smiths is an excellent song

and POW by graham central station becuase its just fun and funky and contains one of the best slap lines ever

I'm just joking Moog. you know nothing can tear our friendship apart, not even the fact we are miles apart, I am right there beside you, yelling, "Chug it, ya little wimp!"
