I have an old dod eq pedal that does not have a place for a 9 volt adapter, only a battery snap. What do I need to do change the snap to a plug? I assume it's just adding the plug and a resistor, but I'm not sure.

I already have a jack, can I just connect the two ends?

There's a picture here that shows you how to connect, and retain the battery snap. Only if your jack is similar of course

To convert a battery snap to a battery plug, just solder wires from the board where the battery snap was to the corresponding lugs on the plug. No resistor needed. Simple as that.
