I plan on buying a Mesa Boogie Dual Rectifier 4x12 Cabinet
and an Esp EC-1000 and replacing the pickups with Seymour Duncan Blackouts
Both will cost me roughly $950
My band is starting to play shows soon and so I am wondering which one will most effect my tone? Which one should I buy first?

Is your guitar comfortable right now? You don't want to play a show live with a guitar you don't like having in your hands.

Sorry let me clarify
Im not buying a new amp
just a cabinet
Im using the pod x3 as my amp
so I am buying a mesa boogie cabinet
but I don't plan on buying a new amp head anytime soon

Thanks

Your amp is going to do far more for your sound that your guitar will, so I would invest in an amp first and then purchase a guitar afterwards.

EDIT: Well, a cab is essentially just a box of speakers, the amp head is where all your effects/distortion/etc. are coming from, go get a new guitar then.

you're seriously going to insult your band like that, using a pod or a crate head live?

bummer bro. for that 950 bucks, i would buy ATLEAST an all-tube head.
fight the power that be

no, a head has all the effects and distortion in it, but it has no speakers, I have heard of people modifying the head so it has a 2x12 it in, but I don't know if it'd be worth the money doing it. You need a cab for the head to be playable.

I don't see what is "insulting" about that (well, I can understand the Crate), but a POD X3 Live is in no way insulting. If anything, it is showing people, "Hey, I've got the money to get top-of-the-line gear" and that floorboard has some great sounds that are capable with that.

Yea
I Understand that the create head may not be the best
but i honestly bought it because it was the cheapest head i could get at the moment when i first started actually playing with a full band
I dont even use the distortion or anything on it
I run my pod into the effects loop
and run the head into the cab
nothing is being used in the amp head
