two and a half men.

Only 8 months old? Oh dear. He might've gotten into a gang. They're very impressionable at that age.

He might show up when he's hungry.

edit: Yup, just as I suspected:

its only a few hours, he'll turn up. keep calling him for the rest of the day, and if he doesnt turn up, call around to all your neighbours tomorrow and ask them to check their garages/sheds or even cars.

My sisters cat disappeared for nine months after we moved house. One day he just wondered in the back door. Cats are strange creatures.

My cat got loose last night as a matter of fact. He usually comes home in the early morning and sleeps all day. You're cat, more than likely, is out getting some pussy so to speak. He/she will be back when it gets hungry. Don't worry about it, if your cat is gone longer than 2 days I'd put up flyers as some ****tard kid might've swooped it up.

Don't put out food or put food down, he knows where home is and will return. My cat used to fanish for 3 or 4 days then come back. Even at that age they know how to survive. Best thing is leave him access to the house maybe just a few small biscuits to intice him inside, nothing enough substantial for a meal.

Best of Luck.
Filth, pure filth... That's what you are.

Dont worry about it. My cat sometimes goes out for about a week and we dont see her during the summer.

I don't think you should be coming to the pit for help . . .

when i need the cat to come inside i rattle the box of sweets, he recognises the sound and wants candy so he comes.

at 8months he's very young, i don't know if you're supposed to let them go outside on their own without a lead or anything when they're young. chances are, it'll come back soon, they always do - but it's always a good idea trying to signal it with some sound it knows. might be embarrassing and the neighbours may call the police but you could try calling it's name.

uh. don't do that again.

WTF kind of cat eats candy?

Oh, I didn't mean that. I just meant that I wouldn't trust the Pit on advice of the operation of a paperclip, let alone what to do about a missing cat.

My cat once ate a bag of Starburst when I left her alone. Wrappers and all. I rushed her to the vet and they said, somehow, it doesn't effect her at all. Now she eats sweets all the time and the vets can't figure out how she's both in shape and healthy. Just last week she ate a small bowl of strawberry shortcake.

Edit: she ate the Starbursts when she was a kitten, and now she's 10 years old. I call her my "little middle finger to medicine."
Sincerely, Chad.

Why has the Pit got this self-imposed-legendary-level-of-idiocy label on it?
It's ridiculous.

Anyway, my cat took off for a night once, came back covered in leaves. She doesn't seem to like outside too much these days though.

cat sweets do exist...they're quite popular, the big cat food companies all make odd shaped little biscuit-type things in multiple colours.

Well, I'll be dernd, I've never heard of such a thing.

It's ridiculous.

Maybe because a post of "what to do about my girlfriend's pregnancy" is immediately met with these responses:
"Sucks to be you."
"Punch her and kill the baby."
"Push her down a flight of stairs."
"I saw this on Law & Order; knock her out and cut the baby out of her, then leave it in a trash can. Hope you don't mind being arrested."

Edit: sigh . . . I rest my case:
