hey guys, i have questions..

is there a way i could lock the strings of a stratocaster (a copy actually) like that of
other guitars with tremolo bridges so that it wont detune when i use the bar?

is there a place you know that sell those locking parts on the neck?

thanks and have a good day!

make sure the bridge is balanced.

and if you want, buy locking tuners.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.

You gotta mod the neck to put the locking nut in. And then would be a bitch to tune as it doesnt have fine tuners on the bridge. Good tuners will make a big difference.

get locking tuners, but dont expect more than a 1 step drop without it detuning.
If you want to do divebombs and all that, thats what floyd roses are for.

and oh..what do you mean by 'you gotta mod the neck?" as in modify?

what's the difference between locking tuners and locking nut? or are they the same?

do you have suggestions of how to put these things on?

A locking nut requires wood working, and you'd have to pay professionals if you like your neck.
And then you'd have to rout your body for a floyd rose, and buy the bridge and locking nut itself
If you got the routing done it would probably be around 100-150
and then the floyd rose itself is 200

350 bucks? Not worth it.

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

honestly, swapping out a bridge (cutting the body to fit it)
and swapping out the nut (cutting out the old one and fitting a new one)

these are big mods for first timers. mod= modify, to change.

swapping out the tuners for locking tuners, is relatively simple and inexpensive by comparison.

first and foremost, start with a guitar that's setup and strung up properly.

imo, when you want a floyd guitar, buy an intermediate or better floyd guitar.

edit: and ok , i got ur pm, see if the reply helps too.
