That's like the guitar equivalent of being a fat guy. There's too much there and it looks really ugly.

The only thing crazier would be 8 single-coils. Or 9.

.......that hasn't been done, right?

i think so, imagine if all of them were engaged and you had them hooked up to a fender, with a holy grail reverb, that would be heaven, maybe.
#17
Lol, WTF?

Yeah, a strat with like 8 singles all engaged into a clean amp with reverb would be pretty sweet maybe.
If I ever get the dough around, I may try that with a strat copy.

GTFO is right, don't you need a little bit a wood in between or space or something. Seems like that many pole magnets and copper coil and everything else would make it scream like a b*tch in h#ll

hum or no hum bucked

Quad bucker!

I think this deserves the "Just because you can, doesn't mean you should" treatment.
#24
Am I the only one who thinks it's photoshopped? I'm not saying it is for sure, but judging by the shadows, it definitely looks like it. Unless the pickups are slanted downward. The shadows of the strings just seem to be bending in all different ways, and between the pickups and the fretboard (on the little pickup brace thing), there are no shadows.

you know i noticed that too and had the same question. wait...let me get another drink-hit first...if you use the rest of the shadows as a guide (the volume knob, the bridge, the selector, the neck, and the guitar itself on the background - and the screws for HBs) - then i would say it is real because the 2nd HB down from the neck is barely showing a shadow on that pick guard/pick holder so the fact that the string shadow is off on that pick up the most tells me it is real and that yes the Pups each have there own setting highth wise.

+1 to the dude who said he has seen something like this before. it's not far fetched at all i just can't see the practicallity or use.

Maybe someone will put 8 or 9 single coils in a strat and we can see that and see how that sounds and then throw this whole thread into the wood "shed" for future generations...FFS

it must be really good for metal!

It does actually look like a shoop, look at the string shadows.

Anyway that may have some nice tonal advantages for all you guys know.
You can't knock it til you've tried it and even then someone else may like it's tone.
#34
Eh, it's nothing new. Teisco had a few guitars with four pickups. A relative of mine has a few Teiscos with four pickups. They sound alright. They just look weird.

I'll stick to a maximum of three pickups.

It's kind of interesting to find out what it'd sound like.
My local store has everything, maybe they have a guitar like that.
I wonder what it would sound like if all the pickups were on.
It'd probably be pretty radical.
