So i was pretty set on a Memory man with hazarai.
When i came upon the realization...
do i really need this much?
Would a dd-6 do?
Or should i dish out the little extra and just get a nova delay?
or is the giga delay even better than all of these?
But then i think i'd be overdoing it since im not even in a band.
aaah
or would an AD-9 or a carbon copy do?

dd-6 is pretty sweet and can do a lot. i love mine.

I guess the delay part of it is good, but the bypass is horrible. I dont like tone suckage.

If you have to ask yourself if you need that stuff, you don't. I mean, I bought a DD6 intending to use the weirder functions and ended up getting rid of it for a deluxe memory man because I didn't end up wanting anything apart from delay.
A dwarf might hear you. What then?

I guess you're right.
The only "weird' function that i would ever use is reverse, because it sounds cool as hell.
but i really want a tap tempo.

Hmm. Well the normal delay sounds aren't that great on the DD6, and the tap tempo is rather fiddly.

I guess i've kinda narrowed it down now.
I think its between the carbon copy and the AD-9
Im leaning towards the carbon copy due to true bypass, and a longer delay time.
But the casing for the AD-9 is kickass...

get either the nova delay, or DL4. those are the 2 best sounding pedals out there. the reverse delay on the nova is out of this world

AD-9 is great if you're wanting a fantastically natural delay rather than all the functions.

well seeing as how it isnt out yet, im kinda doubting anyone has one. maybe someone played one at NAMM though, which would be cool. cause then we would have some insight. the only thing im worried about with that one is the modulation. it almost seems like an after thought, so i just dont know how good it would be. and if it takes away from the delay sounds, its not worth it. so id wait until it comes out and you can try it before you make a final decision.

and i swear, one of these days ill actually have the time to get a recording of my ad-9 to put up

:O
Really? A lot of places have it in stock already and stuff.
The thing that i dont like about the AD-9 is the 300 MS delay...
Thats a little short for me.

Perhaps you think its out of stock because MF doesnt have it in? Im not sure.

Useful...i think

Oh...and they say the modulation is very subtle, but frankly, i could care less about the modulation.

hmm, i coulda sworn it was supposed to come out this week. i even looked a couple places. and its bad when even the catalogs i get dont list something like that in their new gear sections (between my room mate and i we get like 6 different guitar/music shop catalogs). oh well, just goes to show how much i pay attention to things

and 300ms is short, but its not as short as you would think. i rarely turn my ad-9 above 2/3 of the delay time. and its usually around half way. then again im using for something more subtle and just to add that extra dimension instead of a really wacked out and noticable delay. besides, its actually 330ms which is a whole third of a second (well, almost anyway).

If I was looking for a delay I'd definitely get the DMM but that's because seems to be more my kind of delay.
