I was thinking how do you guys and gals learn a song using tabs? Do you:

A. Learn the tab off by heart bar by bar then play it on the guitar. so you dont really need to stop

or

B. Learn one note at a time playing each note on the guitar, i.e. (play a note, look at tab, play next note, look at tab etc etc)

Currently I use B, but I might switch to A as it seems more fluent.

if i don't know how to play the song at all i take it in chunks and learn parts at a time till i have it all down... i dont think anyone would just stare at the tab and memorize it then try and play it...you just keeping playing parts until you get it down, then move on...eventually you get the whole thing

Usually I just read the tab, then play what I remember later on, adding my own fills to it.
If I was really serious into learning a song note by note, I'd print it out and learn it with the guitar on my lap and the tab in front of me.

Learn it in sections like the intro, then riff a, then riff b, etc...
Its so much easier that way, and you learn more about the songs composition.

Yea definitely part by part. Note by note would be insane.
