Well, I learned a few songs at around the same time:

Breaking the Law - Judas Priest
We're Not Gonna Take It - Twisted Sister
Livin' Lovin' Maid (She's Just a Woman) - Led Zeppelin

It's a bit sad, because the first complete songs I learned were six or eight months after I started. Before that, I could only play intros.

my first full song, all the way through, would have been All The Small Things by Blink182, that was a long time ago now.

Hash Pipe - Weezer.

Great song and it was really easy to play all the way through (solo included).

Megadeth - Promises
Megadeth - Dread And The Fugitive Mind
Megadeth - She Wolf

I think that the fact so many people posted that their first song was a Greenday song means Greenday deserve some respect. They give beginners something easy to play with while they develop more advanced techniques.

I'm surprised nobody said Molly's Lips (by The Vaselines, although it was covered by Nirvana)

You CAN play anything with anything....but some guitars sound right for some things, and not for others. Single coils sound retarded for metal, though those who are apeshit about harpsichord probably beg to differ.

More than a Feeling, by Boston. I learnt the solo, played it, then totally forgot it, because i liked the rest better.

My first song was Eruption, but that doesn't count cause I can only play it with my wang.

My VERY first full song was me and a buddy of mine picking out The Star Spangled Banner (regular, not the Jimi version) when he first got his guitar.

My first real song was Wish You Were Here
