I don't know anything about setting up mics, but I'm going to take up vocal duties/rhythm guitar duties in my band soon, and I should probably have a little cheapo set to start me off.

Can anyone point out any cheapo packages or anything to help me get started?

Alright, what kind of mic-amp would be good?

I know almost nothing about mic setups.

Depends on what your using it for and what type of music your singing. Rock/metal etc youll need a PA, pop/jazz stuff you can get away with a small wedge. All depends on what its being used for really.

Either get the equivalent seinheisser or an sm58, Personally due to my voice an sm57 beta is better, as it cuts the vlow end through the mix, but the beta shure's are more expenisuve.

Yup, thats fine. Just plug it all in, set the Mic up and your good to go. Can also rig your keyboards/guitars/bass/other electric instruments through it if you so pleased
