I was thinking about which was the correct way to say "Dream" in the past tense. And this website tells me that "Dreamed" or "Dreamt" can be used interchangeably.
Quote by bartleby.com
"Dream has long had two sets of Standard past tense and past participle forms, dreamed and dreamt: She dreamed [dreamt] she won the lottery. I had dreamed [dreamt] that I was being pursued. Americans may slightly prefer dreamed and the British dreamt, but both occur frequently in American English. To dream a dream or to dream dreams is Standard and not considered redundant; you can also have dreams. Both verb and noun can combine with either of or about: He dreamed of [about] chocolate bars. She had a dream about [of] falling through space."

Dreamed is awkward and cumbersome. Like a rock. Dreamt is sleek and coo like a Mazda SPEED MASTER?. Dreamt.

I say "dreamt" but when I spell it out in something, I say "I dreamed."

Just a safety thing with me.

Dreamt is the only word in the English language that ends in "mt" and is correct.

I think.....
If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken
Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools,
Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken,
And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools

I think it's one of those words where people messed it up so much they just put it in there. I'm pretty sure dreamt is the right way.

It's just a difference between American English and British English

Dreamt for me
You are like a hurricane
There's calm in your eye.
And I'm gettin' blown away
To somewhere safer
where the feeling stays.
I want to love you but
I'm getting blown away.

I used the search bar and didn't find anything.

Well, I thought it was pretty interesting how the link said that Americans were more likely to say "Dreamed" and British people were more likely to say Dreamt.

Oh, nevermind. We had a "is" vs "are".

I had a "ed" vs "t" on a different forum...

Dreamed sounds like something you'd hear in pre-school.

I think Americans say dreamed, we say dreamt; yeah, the spell checker on FireFox says that dreamt is a mistake. Americans also say learned, instead of learnt.

I voted for "dreamed," because I never say "dreamt," and then I realized that I never say either one. I always just say "I had a dream." And apparently I'm not alone.
