I'm getting a Jazzmaster, so maybe you should check those out. Get a jazz and get some SDs in it and you'l be blown away.

Teles can be used to rock or the blues but you need to be consious of the true tone of a telly they are high end by design. The 72 is a good choice because of the humbucker in the neck. Strats can be used for just about anything. Strat would be my choice but I do have 6 or 7 of them.
