I just picked one up, a Casio DG-1, and was wondering if anyone knew anything about these, or if anyone else here plays a digital guitar

is it the same thing as a synthaxe? If so that should be a lot of fun to use.

Does the line 6 variax count?
I like analogue Solid State amps that make no effort to be "tube-like", and I'm proud of it...

...A little too proud, to be honest.

I wouldn't really say it's the same. As the aim of the variax is to emulate guitar sounds. These things are basically synths with strings.

If you want to get really technical about it..

1. Grab sticks.

i got it for $125 at some really cluttered guitar store, they had 2 one was getting repaired and the other was for sale, its way different than normaly guitar playing, and although i may not use it to change the world its way too much fun to quit playing with!

Real guitar > Digital guitar

Obviously. This is a guitar site, everyone here knows a real guitar is better than a digital guitar.

Does it have some kind of MIDI connection? If so, could you use it to tab things out on guitar pro? (I think I remeber seeing somewhere something like this).

Probably. Just import the MIDI to guitar pro.

I think this digital guitar thing would be cool, but a MIDI pickup addition to any guitar would be better.
