I recently bought a new 6-string bass & was wondering if anyone could give me some good songs for using a 6-string well??

dont have to be too easy, but not too hard either

or maybe, anyone could give me the easiest Dream Theater song to learn??

any help is appreciated, thanks!

Overture 1928 is a pretty easy song, if you ignore the hard bits .

Have a look at Solar Groove. It's quite a nice 6 string song that will get you using all the strings.

Primus is probably the best 6 string

for some 5-strings you could do Papa Roach or 311

or if you can find a Korn song where he doesn't use the 7th string
Top 15:
Neutral Milk Hotel
Smashing Pumpkins
Placebo
Elliott Smith
Devendra Banhart
Pavement
Anberlin
Eve 6
The Clash
Imogen Heap
Ingrid Michaelson
Bayside
Minus The Bear
The Replacements
Bright Eyes/Conor Oberst

The Korn bassist uses a 5 string...

and the guy above you... I'm pretty sure In Flames uses a 5 string. I may be wrong, but I don't remember ever seeing a sixer.

The only hard bits be the fill at the beginning, and the bit where they all play the little unison bit twards the end lad.

The rest be not bad.

I'm certain he has one in the Take This Life video, and on the live show I saw.
I might have miscounted though.

Just look for 5 string songs and use the high C to make songs easier to play by not having to go up the neck so much. (Not saying going up the neck is hard, but the high C makes things a lot more conveniant)

Korn's bassist pioneered the 7-string bass, because their guitarist uses a 7-string guitar

Great logic there. I'm assuming that Chris Hillman must have used a 12 string bass, since Roger McGuinn was famous for using Ric 360/12's.

Good Lord. He has a 15 string bass.
