im looking for a ac.dc, led zep, randy rhodes tone and i know they all used plexis at one point. I really dont need or want 100W and i dont have a ton of $ so i was looking an an orange tiny terror and also a ceriatone 18watt and id just have nic put it together for me. which one would be best for me?

Those two amps would do great for stuff like that.

The Tiny Terror really needs to be at full tilt to get that really nice Marshallish tone.

I'd go for the Ceriatone though.

Oh... And it's Randy Rhoads.

I admit that I've never been able to get my hands on a Ceriatone. But the Tiny Terror absolutely blew my mind when I tried it, so I'd say to go for that all the way. I'd be playing through one if it handled high- gain differently. I'm actually considering using my MESA F30 combo for the high- gain stuff, then disconnecting the speaker cable and connecting it to a TT for lower- gain stuff.

The Ceriatone 18watt will prabobly get you closer to the Plexi sound.

Not at all. The TT gets that tone at low volumes as well because of its master volume. The 18w needs to be cranked; but it sounds better IMO.

It still won't exactly replicate the tone though. You need to drive the speaker also in order to get the sound. You can emulate tube drive but not speaker drive.

But, it'll still be closer than the Orange, and it will still be really badass.

all right now then i think im getting me an 18 watter, but another thing. Anyone who has the Epiphone valve jr , does it sound anything close to marshally?

I was also considering the EVJ b.c its only 5 watts so i can push the vol a little more than an 18 watter (ps. im not afraid to mod it)
