Hey guys, decided to start up a new thread for the NHL playoffs here. Anyone care for some predictions?
Montreal/Boston - Montreal in 5
Penguins/Senators - Pens in 6
Washington/Flyers - Washington in 5
New Jersey/New York - Devils in 7

Detroit/Nashville - Detroit in 6
San jose/Calgary - San Jose in 5
Wild/Avalanche - Avalance in 7
Anaheim/Dallas - Anaheim in 6

those are my best guesses.

Polls up, better late than never. I apologize, due to limited options I just took the top 4 from each conference then added an "other" option for each conference.

1st page.

I'm gonna have to go with the Sharks and Devils in the Finals, with the Sharks pulling it off in 5.
#5
You guys are nuts.
Crosby and Geno will at least get the Pens to the conference finals.

Canes

My money's on the Devil's. Brodeur is an animal. I don't know if they can handle the Rangers though, horrible against them this season even though the Ranger's suck.

Although they're not in the post-season, the Oilers are a young team too, and I'd take them over Philly any day.

there should be poll for who is going to win the cup

There is only 10 options though... Good idea. 9 teams who are most likely, and maybe an "Underdog" option, such as Washington, or Philly, or whoever else.

Wild/Avalanche - Avs 7
Anaheim/Dallas - Ducks in 5

round two

Cup final

Penguins/San Jose - San Jose in 5

I really don't think the Pens would go that far and suck out in 5 games to the Sharks. If it were a Pens/Sharks final, I could definitely see it going to game 7.

just a gut feeling i'm really confident it's going to be those teams in the final but i really think the pens are just going to choke thanks to fleury being a little unreliable

Well they do have Conklin and Sabourin, who are phenomenal this year. The only thing they should worry about is lack of playoff experience. Nabokov on the other hand should be amazing as always.

ya but they are probably going to go with the #1 goalie for the cup run. i also really think that nabokov will pull through this year

I really think it was a little unfair to Conklin, when Fleury and Crosby were injured, Malkin and Conklin pretty much carried the team to where they are now.

Then when they returned, they automatically got their spots back, and didn't even have to do much to get them back.

If anything, the Malkin line should have stayed number one, seeing as the numbers they put up were incredible. When Crosby was injured, Malkin had what... 12 goals? Now he has 47 or 48, and Conklin was leading the league in save percentage, something Fleury never did.

Bah, oh well.

Trust me, right now, Fleury is anything but unreliable. He is playing the best hockey of his career and is doing everything right.

Drmckool, I definitely agree with your predictions. I am a Pens fan (not a bandwagon fan either because of Crosby) all the way, and I'm definitely rooting for them to get the Cup, but San Jose is a hell of a team, it would take a hell of an effort to beat a team as complete as they are.

EDIT: Damn, forgot to put down my predictions:

Montreal vs. Boston - Montreal in 5
Penguins vs. Senators - Pens in 5
Washington vs. Flyers - Caps in 6
New Jersey vs. New York - Rangers in 6

Detroit vs. Nashville - Detroit in 7
San jose vs. Calgary - San Jose in 5
Wild vs. Avalanche - Wild in 6
Anaheim vs. Dallas - Anaheim in 5
