I'm looking for a distortion pedal that will give me a decent metal tone, preferably similar to Metallica's tone, but I also want it to be able to deliver a real 'crushing' tone

I'd like to keep my budget as low as possible. I've found the JH-1 Jackhammer for $129 and the Metal Zone for the same price, which do you guys think will deliver better? Thanks

i bought a BOSS Metal Core off eBay brand new for $90AUD and it rocks socks. also try the Boss Mega Distortion (i think its called) its got heavy as **** tone and maybe some digtech pedals but theyre a little more expensive

I think a high-gain amp would be best for you. Those two pedals suck.

Jackhmammer is crappy. Had one, sold it about a month later

The MT-2 has the same poor reputation.

Dunno how much it is wherever you are but the Metal Muff is better than those two if you're looking for a hi-gain distortion pedal.

Crushing gain = MG, no?
Only if you get the Zakk Wylde Microstack or the Kerry King 10W.

Nothing says br00t@Lz tone like two signature MGs
