I'm looking to replace my Spider III with a new amp. I don't really want a big amp, just something small to practice with. I found a Crate XT15R for $20. Is this amp an upgrade from my Spider? My budget is fairly small, but you can suggest other amps

What's wrong with your Spider? It makes a better practice amp than that Crate. So, no... that wouldn't be an uprade.

I guess it is good for practice. I just have that sudden impulse to buy a new guitar or something....

Keep saving. The Spider is fine as a practice amp.
