Before I say anything, do not tell me to get a different amp, I want a Marshall JCM 800, but that's not happening for a long time if ever, and in the meantime I have a very good amp for what I do.

That being said, when I turn my amp up really loud, I find that the treble can be a bit overbearing, even though I turn it down quite a bit. I've heard other people say they had good result with replacing the speaker in it, and I was thinking about the George Lynch v12 by eminence.

here's a video of a reveiw by Guitar World.

They actually manage to make that Marshall MG sound pretty good.

this is the speaker, both of them are 8 ohms, so when I replace the speaker, just screw it in and resolder the connection?

Also, any other opinions?
