What programs do you guys (and girls) use?

Programs? Just tap with the song and time yourself. Tap for exactly 1 minute and count how many times you tapped, that would be the tempo .

I do the same above, tap my foot, then take that tempo put it into a tap tempo drum machine and it tells me the tempo.

I never trust a program for tempo, especially when there's a complicated rhythm.

If you're listening to rock music or something with a steady 2 and 4 beat on the snare its really easy to find the ballpark tempo of a song. Other weird time sigs might make it harder to tap your foot to the beat though.

Does a hardcore cover of a rap song count as a weird time sig?
