Okay, I know UG isn't the place to ask such questions, but I don't know who else to ask, as google has failed me.
I just got a new webcam, pretty nifty. It works on MSN and as far as I know, skype, but I can't find it anywhere on my computer.
On my friends older computer that isn't Vista, her webcam comes up in My Computer, and you can just click on it, and up comes a program that takes snapshots etc.
Mine doesn't appear in Computer.
...Help?

this happened with my webcam and my vista laptop.

You didn't install the software that came with it (or not correctly).

Aaaaand how did you fix it?

Did it come with any software? That needs to be installed first. There needs to be drivers in order for it to work.

When I plugged it in, it downloaded all the drivers it needed from the internet. It didn't come with a thing, no instruction booklet or anything. I guess they assumed it was pretty fucking obvious. :/
