Hello.

I have a problem with the distortion on my amp. When i play the usual chuggy stuff, and power chords it sounds fine, but if i play any lead lines that are relatively high, i get horrible background noise that ruins the sound.

Suggestions?

If it's feedback, you may want to check out a noisegate
Look at this thread someone else just posted for info:

Normally you don't get feedback when you're playing the guitar.

It's not feedback, its more of a haze/fizz kind of sound than ringing feedback.

What amp is it? My 5150 hums all the time, it just the noise of the amp, get a noise gate like the ISP Decimator and it should cut it out.

Jambi... Does your decimator actually cut back all the hum? My decimator eliminates feedback but it doesn't do all too much in terms of hum

If you put your decimater in the FX loop it should remove the hum.

Hey Ventor, My decimator didn't work in the effects loop... when I plugged it in it would go quiet to loud. It sounded sort of like one of those rotary speakers... I'm a little concerned now.

Dunno, did you connect it right? FX-send -> Decimator in -> decimator out -> FX-return ?
I don't have a decimator but I guess the basic pedals work the same as my NS-2.

Jenny needs to sow her wild oats with random Gibsons and Taylors she picks up in bars before she settles down with a PRS.
