Hi I just got my new acoustic (yamaha fg730s, I love it) and I left my acoustic guitar case at home. So all I have right now is the box it came in (wrapped in paper and stuff). I also have a guitar stand. My question is will the guitar get damaged from being kept out? There is no air conditioning and it's been getting warmer so I've been keeping the windows open a bit more. I am in Pennsylvania, right outisde philly, for example, today was 60 degrees.

It should be fine. The climate there is pretty much the same as I have here in CT, and my guitar is always on its stand. I'd be more concerned about umm...non-environmental damage in the dorm, honestly.

Gear:
Partscaster/Tele into a bunch of pedals, a Maz 18 head, and a Z Best cab.

The stand should be fine, but i would put it in a corner maybe, just so it doesnt get knocked over or hit by something.
#4
and please. dont get drunk in your dorm room and screw up your guitar. haha. i've heard that story a few times now. one guy broke his martin D-15. not cool... not cool.

thank you for the responses, I will definitely not be around it when I drink, considering I am the kinf og breaking things when I drink. so, yeah...

i hope he is talking farenheit, becuase if it's in centigrate, the glue under his bridge would start weakening.

haha, well he could have meant 90 or 100 or something...because where I live 60 is cool, and 100 is hot, and when it gets to 120 then you know its the summer..

60s warm But then again, we get everything from -10 to 110, I'm used to it all.

yeah 110 is pretty hot, but have you ever experienced 122? that is HOT...haha. well I guess it seems to me that 60 is cool since I live in a place that reaches 120....

haha 60 is warm for this time fo the year, considering it's been 30-40 recently...so when the weather hits 60, sandals and shorts are mandatory (it's when the girls start wearing all their summer dresses too ^_^

In Michigan, there are only two times of year that I look at the thermometer: Spring and Fall. During Winter and Summer, I know what the temperture outside is: really cold and really hot, respectively.
Sincerely, Chad.

haha. toronto's weather can be pretty crazy. in one year im guranteed to have at least one day of a low of -20C and a high of ohh... 35C or so. not sure what that calculates into in farenheit, but it's a pretty wide range i can assure you.

Yeah, we share around the same weather patterns, almost. It never really drops below -10C here, but the summer gets up to about 38C. For two days this week, the weather was nice enough to open my window (about 16C!). This weekend it's going to drop down to 0C again. Sigh.
Sincerely, Chad.

If you say "wicked" every other word, then you're from the 1990s, not Michigan. I'll give in, though; upper-peninsula Michiganders have a very stereotypical Canadian voice.
Sincerely, Chad.

I live in canada, and i still dont know how we even got that stereotypical voice. I have yet to meet a person in canada who actually has it. in my 17 years of life, i have yet to meet even one. ahahaha.

I've met maybe 10, aside from relatives. It really only breeds itself in midwest Canada, near Minnesota and places like that.
Sincerely, Chad.

First of all, you know there's no Spring or Fall in MI..it goes from Summer straight to Winter, back to Summer ( for two months) ....

The Michigan seasons are:

Almost Winter
Winter
Still Winter
