Ok so this saturday i'm going to my local guitar center to buy my first half stack and i'm not sure which one i should get. I'm stuck between two amps: the Randall120DHS, or the Marshall MG100HDFX. It's my first halfstack so i only want a solid state and please don't suggest that i screw both of them and go with a Line 6 because i hate Line 6s. I play mostly nu metal like LP and Chevelle and Breaking Ben. My budget isnt much higher than $600 so if there is a better amp than the two ive suggested in my price range, please tell me. I appreciate any and all opinions. Thank you for the help.

do you seriously need a halfstack. you seriously could get a tube combo rated at nearly 40 watts that will be louder and much much better sounding. seriously, in 1-2yrs you will end up selling your halfstack for next to nothing and getting a tube anyways. what you want to do is not a good investment
Gibson 58 VOS, Gibson Rich Robinson ES-335, Fender Strat, Fender RoadWorn 50's Tele, Gibson LP Jr Special

Marshall JTM45, Fender BJR NOS

Check out a Peavey Windsor half stack. It's a tube half stack for $675. The only problem is that it only has 1 channel, but it's often compared to a Marshall JCM800, which is almost $2800 for a half stack.

buy my JCM900 for $675 shipped almost anywhere in the US!

it can do those with an OD pedal pretty easy

But... but MG and it's crushing overdrives! In all seriousness get an ENGL.

yep tube combo, its been said and it will be said much more.
you dont need a halfstack, 40 tube watts will be plenty loud.

isn't that a little out of his price range?
if you have patience though and you can save up some more money, an ENGL would be amazing.
im happy with my 5150 though.

If used then $600 will suffice.
