Tibet wants to be free because they are quite frankly oppressed by the PRC and the PLA.
Free Tibet = good.

China invaded tibet in the 50's and have more or less taken away all their human rights.

Strange how the rest of the world has ignored this but are happy to invade Iraq.

I think some people are scared of China

i read somewhere that if china re floated their dollar it would make the rest of worlds economies crash. because the Chinese dollar is actually worth three times what its worth atm.. if that makes any sense..
#16
People are scared of China because they are fast becoming the next superpower, and a lot of economies at least partially rely on China. But China's economy also relies on the economies of the rest of the world, especially the US.

I agree but if Tibet were it's own country where would it trade and get resources from?

Tibet didn't have human rights before China took control either... Chinese control of Tibet was better, in the sense that it raised the standard of living and working conditions...

The dalai lama is a horrible person and will burn in hell. He basically ran Tibet as a feudalist state.
#23
What China did to Tibet would be the equivalent of USA marching into Canada and making new rules, or England marching into Wales and saying you cannot be Welsh..etc

China is in the wrong completely.

Last time I checked China has one of the worst human rights violation records in the history of mankind.. I really don't see how a Centralised Buddhist government can be worse..
#24
Tibet was a feudalist and slave nation before China "liberated" it back in the '50's. I don't reckon it's right what they did, but what would America do if Mexico started taking American citizens as it's slaves??

Tibet was not a 'Slave Nation'; they didn't take Chinese prisoners and enslave them...

Tibet was simply old-fashioned compared to the rest of the world. the 'Liberation' of Tibet was the Chinese excuse for invasion. If you were liberating a country, why would you shoot and kill their harmless monks?
wat.

Are any countries helping the Tibetans?
Because you know we could have a Iraq/American + other countries freedom force to help them.Americans give Iraqis loads of cars, they load them with bombs and boom. But that would never happen. Maybe they should ask god for help?(by that i mean they should pray to god instead of buddah and see what happens)

What are you on about? freedom force american carbombs? great.

And by the way, in Tibet, they are Buddhists. THERE IS NO GOD IN BUDDHISM.

There is no god in buddhism. Its about inner peace and self belief without the need for cravings.

I have a keen interest in buddhism

You've learned about the subject less then fifteen minutes ago and already you're making a protest group? You gotta be kidding me...

I don't think Tibet should be free. They should charge for it.
Anyway, China bad. They bullied Konnie Huq when she carried their IOlympic Torch, and you shouldn't bully girls with nice boobs.

Apparently the 'escort' for the torch(large mob of Chinese guys in blue/white trackies) kept telling her to hold the torch higher and crap. Actually, as I recall, they did the same to denise van Outen(another possessor of fine boobies).
Maybe they have soething against boobies as well. The monsters!

That he knows practiclly nothing of the subject in hand, and still chooses to lead a group about it, which makes him a disgrace to human rights organizations.
Not that they've had that uch respect at the first place, but still.

Not quite true. They just consider the idea of a creator god to be the individuals choice to make.

Japan imports pretty much all their resources (most of it is either metropolitan or uninhabitable mountain), and they're pretty dandy.

And Tibet could trade yak, I suppose.
