Hey guys umm...I was just playing my games last night, and when I go to start up any of them, I get a message saying that some component of DirectX is missing. Do I need to reinstall or what can I do?

I am currently looking for a way to reinstall it and I'm having no luck

I'd just re-install it again, man.

I'm going to assume you're running DX9, so you just need to go to the Windows website and find the stand-alone download for DirectX 9.0c.

Either that, or type it in Google.

It's 9.0c. I tried searching it and all I can find is the SDK and a bunch of add on things that don't seem to fix anything :grr:

Thank you much. Some change please for you?

Try going into DXDiag and using the Windows troubleshooter or just reviewing the notes to see if there's any problems.

I keep getting errors about "No supported display mode" and things of that nature, as well as a failure to auto set the resolution and color scheme. I'd copy paste, but it won't let me

Should I just right click the desktop and edit properties or what?

You may have to install the driver for your graphics card again.

I'm not completely sure, though. I've never encountered your problem before.

Yes. I just installed a new graphics card (8600 gt 512) and the drivers a few days ago. Should I reinstall them?

It's worth a shot.

It's not a DX10 card, is it?
