Holy **** guy's. I just came back from a protest about the huge student debt in NZ atm. I thought I was pretty empowering when the cops basically escort you to parliment down the main street. So has anyone here ever got involved in protest or civil disobedience, and if so, how was it?

I hope you weren't disobedient in your protest.

Once I protested some decisions made by my parents. I threw my mattress on the floor and refused to come to supper. Things didn't turn out too well for me.

Yes.

It was a school protest, we sat on the field and ran off home. Fun day. Those who stayed got given chocolate.

Yeah... we tried to stage a walkout at school at the beginning of the Iraq war (I only went to see if I could get off lessons). About 700 or so people walked out of school and onto the football pitch.

Then a Geography teacher, a certain Mr Woodhouse (read: psycho) walks out, and yells "IF YOU DON'T GET BACK INTO YOUR CLASSROOMS, I WILL GET YOU ALL SUSPENDED"

Within 5 minutes, no-one was on the football pitch.

I had a teacher called "Mr Woodhouse" or something similar that said exactly the same thing 0_0 when we protested on the football pitch about the war...

All Mr Woodhouses' must be the same.

ive been to lots of iraq war protests in san diego. theyre fun. it was funny though, when we were protesting, there were fbi agents in the balcony of the building above us taking pictures of everyones face. so i guess thats part of my fbi record now.

good times.

I went to a student debt protest myself at the back end of last year. We got a load of support from students and even professors!

There were rumours he had an ice pick in his top drawer, and he drove a mobile home to school... there's not much scarier than that.

Wait... why didn't he just park the mobilehome at the school?

I'm wondering about the ice pick, though. Perhaps he was a fan of ice climbers?
