Isn't some Slipknot and Mudvayne in Drop B?

Sorry that's all I got.

Uh? Since when do they use 7 strings?

There are seven string guitars, KoRn was a big user of them.

Machine Head and Slipknot both play in drop B.

To be honest, I'd go for Machine Head.

Check Davidian for an easier song, or Aesthetics of Hate for something a bit more complex.
#11
Whatever...

At that point it starts to meld into the bass region anyway.

And if you want to play it in drop B, play it that way.

How about Davidian by Machinehead?

It's drop D, but hey...think outside the box.

Why would you tune your guitar to drop b?

Because I love the brutal sound of it.

I played Laid To Rest in Drop B and it sounded so ****ing mean.

A. Never, ever talk again.

B. It's not in drop D. You should find out what you're talking about first next time.

It's drop B.

Old is in D, and Halo is in drop C, but almost all of their other songs (on Burn My Eyes, Through the Ashes of Empires and the Blackening) are in drop B.

amon amarth drop B?xD no:P

roots bloody roots by sepultura is an easy one , and it is nice to play

No ****, but Amon Amarth doesn't use them.

I'm sorry I can't read your mind, you just said, "Since when do they use seven strings", guess, what? There is no name in there, I don't know who the **** your talking about.

Gee, if only I like.. quoted someone.. that maybe.. used Amon Amarth.. as a subject..

Payback by Flaw, Before I Forget by Slipknot (really anything by them)
If you have a 7 string, try Sky by Ra or Headstrong by Trapt
If you wanna tune down even further (Drop A#), then try Beginning of the End by Spineshank (or really any other song by them I think they always use that tuning)

I don't care what key it's in.

I'll play it in drop D, drop C, drop Eb...

Why, because I'm actually a trained musician and yes, I know what the hell I'm talking about.

It's called being a real musician and not some imitating little fart harping on about "the real thing is in (whatever key)" or "it's this fret, not that fret"

...you're the one who should think twice before opening his trap.

Take a lesson or two first.

You said it was played it drop D. It isn't; that's a fact. If you play along to the record in drop D you will sound out of tune.

Well, I'm not a huge fan, I assumed somehow they used 7 strings. Mainly because tuning so low when you could use a 7 string is pretty ridiculous in my opinion

I've seen them twice and never seen them use a 7 string. I was wondering if I missed something hah.

Call me a n00b, but later Slipknot for some good drop B riffing, IMO.

Amon Amarth is mostly drop B I think, on a 7 string.

In Pursuit Of Vikings is a great song to chug along.

lolwut

Just give up dude.

This guy does. End of argument.

If you were to ask for something in Drop D, does that mean I could recommend you Meshuggah's Stengah in Drop E? I think not.

This same exact thread was made last week.
Bring Me The Horizon is all Drop B. Shitty band, but their stuff is fun as hell to play.
Beneath the Massacre is in Drop B too. Fun to play if you can.

I don't care.

I play it that way because I have a locking nut and when I jam with a drummer I don't exactly feel like going through a half hour of retuning my instrument just to play a simple little metal song.

If/when you actually play with another human being you will discover that I know what the hell I'm talking about.

Drop...whatever.

Just play the f*cking thing.

I've played with other musicians for as long as I've played the guitar. I too took music classes and got the highest grade.

This does not mean you can bullshit people and not expect to get any kind of retribution from people who know what you are.

Good day to you sir.

Yeah, dude, but the fact is the same.. you said they played in a tuning they don't. Just admit you're wrong there.
#38
well bubonic it still wont sound exactally the same as the song as when you drop the top string to B that makes the open B and the following c and c# both a lower octave than anything else on the guitar. However it not being exactally the same isnt nessicarily a bad thing. However the guy is kind of asking for drop B songs more than likely because he wants to play something tuned that low not hear about your ability to play the song without doing so
to threadstarter i recommend heartwork by carcass if im not mistaken its in drop b
and its fantastic
