Today my friend was dicking around with his guitar and he had some drumsticks with him. So he goes and starts to play the opening riff off californication and he gets the coolest sounds i have ever heard from a guitar. They kinda sounded like bubbles popping. Now he is completely obsessed with it. Has anyone else done this?

Pretty sure any smooth object rubbing against strings makes the same wierd sound.

Actually, when I saw Van Halen in February, EVH used them during his 10 minutes of guitar solo.
#5
you mean like a pac-man noise? if so then herman li does that right b4 the "through the fire and flames" solo.
My pedalboard is worth more than my car, but that doesn't say much for either.

I have used them before but I would actually hit the strings with it instead of rubbing it across the strings.

My drummer used to do that constantly with my bass, I ended up slapping him in the face.

I detect sarcasm, magnets seem like they could do bad things to a guitar.
I've decided that my signature is terrible. I'm open to suggestions.

Actually all 3 times ive seen black stone cherry the guitarist would hold the guitar up and the drummer would hit the strings with drumsticks.
I decided I want to be more like the people on ug...

Magnets arent really good but hold a tv remote next to your pickups and press buttons.

Haa, yeah I did that the other day when I was watching a guitar DVD and playing, sounded like a lazer gun from Star Trek or something.

Nice.....
Funny enough the reason I don't anymore is that the last time, the stick got caught under one of the strings and then sprang back up and hit me in the face.
