Waiting for Godot is a great choice. Yea, it's a bit boring and "wtf?" the first read, but try not to think too hard about it. plus it's pretty short.

the novelization of Die Hard.

Or First Blood (yes it was a book first)

Edit: is there a novelization of Die Hard? If so, i have my next book report for my elective literature class.

How about Tartuffe? It's pretty short, and it's a classic example of french comedia.
