so, i'm looking for some dark/evil/creepy etc sounding classical music to try and learn, and maybe figure out how to make my own music a bit more dark, thanks in advance.

There are some nice arrangements of Bach's 'Toccata & Fugue in D minor (BWV 565)' for electric guitar.

Edvard Grieg's In the Hall of the Mountain King? Pretty cliche, but yeah.

I assume you mean in the general sense of western art music, correct me if I'm wrong.

Schoenberg - Verklärte Nacht
Scriabin - op 8 no 12, op 72 Vers la Flamme, op 11 no 14 prelude, op 61 nocturne poeme, and all of the op 65 etudes.
Chopin - op 10 no 12, op 25 no 12, Op 30 scherzo no 1
Liszt - B minor Sonata and Dante sonata
Alban Berg- Piano Sonata no 1 op 1

Those are some of my favorites. Enjoy.

Liszt's Mephisto Waltz
Liszt's Faust Symphony (The Mephistopheles Movement in Particular)

In my opinion, Liszt was able to write some pretty diabolical sounding stuff.

For something perhaps dark, but not necessarily evil...
