It might be easier if you finger the D, the second note, on the 5th fret of your A-string.

Stars represent Position shifts. That's how I'd play it.

Maybe you could play an open A instead of the 5th fret, then do the sweep.

with which finger..i assume i need to bar the 10's with my index finger the get to the 13th then work my way back somehow.

---5-8---------------------------

Try it like that so it not arpeggio
because that would be way to hard to get the finger control
the jump from g-e is just a normal string jump

I'd propose sliding like that. Start with the pinky on the 5/10, then the middle for the 8, bar your index for the 7s then slide up and bar the 10s with your index aswell. Use the pinky/ring for the 13 (whichever is more comfortable) then bar down with your index on the 10s, slide down to the 7s and bar with the index again. Use the middle for the 8 and the pinky for the 10 again.

EDIT: actually, you could just hammer from the 5 to 10 in the beginning, just use your pinky for the 10.

That's how i do it, I hit the 5th fret on the A string with my first finger and the 8th fret with my ring and then roll my first finger on the 7th.
Repeat on the way back up.

Good on ya for trying that piece! It isn't easy but when you get it down it is awesome!
Out here you've gotta know where your towel is!
