I am having a dillema about pinch harmonics. I can do them with my thumb, But my pickhold slips, so when I try and reach, I hit other strings. Should I try playing with my fingers going down the pick and mute with thetip of my thumb as opposed to the joint?

What? You're supposed to do pinch harmonics with the tip of your thumb anyway, dude.

If you don't want to change your method, then actively mute the other strings with your palm or unused fretting fingers.

I have solved the problem. After trawling the web for a few days, I found a video (which I then skilfully lost) which showed me the "correct" technique. I tried it, but found myself slipping...into a perfect position with my thumb going horizontally across and my finger going down. This position allows me to do pinch harmonics fine, but still play normally without accidental pinch harmonics or ringing. Thank for your advice.
